ENTRYWAY

I’ve moaned about our grim entryway and stairway a few times, but the long weekend provided an opportunity to do a bit of work on them.

The stairway used to have grotty red carpet; a revolting handrail and stark white walls but somehow, with minimum effort and expense, it’s now looking much better. Ok, I’ll admit that painting the stairs was a bit of a pain, but I did that a while ago so it’s a distant memory now. The paint job on the stairs was inspired by Orla Kiely's London home [below] - she's definitely one of my decorating heroes. The colour of the stairs is more turquoise than it’s come up in the photo and it needs a bit of touching up here and there. I’m going to hang this Pinback poster [below] around here somewhere once I get it framed... (they’re playing Dublin soon; hurrah!)
