NEW MOOD BOARD
I’ve updated my mood board for the spare room, which we’ll be turning into a den in the coming months, and I’m much happier with this new version. (Last year’s colurless old mood board is here). Importantly, the new scheme involves using things that we already own – our grey Habitat Stalks rug, two Habitat Ingvar stools and a Le Klint lightshade, all of which had previously been in the living room at one time or another.
I realised recently that there’s a real lack of bright yellow in our house despite it being one of my favourite colours, so I’m going to redress the balance by papering a wall of the den with a long-time favourite of mine, Cole & Son’s Cow Parsley wallpaper in yellow. Yep, I think I’ve at last decided on a wallpaper I can commit to. The lamp shown is Spindle from Habitat, the sofa and ottoman are from IKEA, and the blanket is a rather expensive one from Orla Kiely (which I will most likely never buy…)
Right now, we still have a backlog of fiddly little jobs to take care of around the house before we start a whole new room, all thanks to the pesky rule that dictates that one job being completed will always create at least two new jobs, e.g. Getting new front door fitted = clods fitting door breaking hallway shelf, framed print and light fitting in the process. That kind of thing.
